Here are the most significant NFL injuries in Week 11:
Philadelphia Eagles: Jake Elliott, K, Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles announced during the second quarter that placekicker Elliott was being evaluated for a head injury. The team subsequently indicated that Elliott would be out for the remainder of the game.
Buffalo Bills: Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Buffalo Bills: Benjamin got hit in his right knee by Chargers safety Adrian Phillips, and the knee bent back awkwardly. He grabbed the knee immediately and was tended to on the field by Buffalo medical personnel before being helped off. After being examined in the medical tent on the sideline, he was carted off to the locker room and declared out for the remainder of the game.
Cincinnati Bengals: Vincent Rey, LB, Cincinnati Bengals: Rey exited the game in the second half and was declared out for the duration of the contest because of a left hamstring injury.
Buffalo Bills: Micah Hyde, S, Buffalo Bills: Injured during a rushing play by Chargers fullback Derek Watt, Hyde was designated as questionable to return because of a knee issue.
New England Patriots: Stephon Gilmore, CB, New England Patriots: With the Pats well in control in the second half, Gilmore left the field and was deemed questionable to return because of dehydration. He returned in the fourth quarter.
New England Patriots: Danny Amendola, WR, New England Patriots: After teammate Gilmore went back to the locker room because of dehydration, Amendola joined him, also suffering from the effects of dehydration. Similarly, he was declared questionable to return; also similarly, he made his return in the fourth quarter.
Oakland Riders: Johnny Holton, WR, Oakland Raiders: The Raiders announced during the second quarter that Holton was being evaluated for a concussion. Holton passed the tests and returned to action in the second half.
Washington Redskins: Chris Thompson, RB, Washington Redskins: Thompson appeared to take the worst of a massive collision involving Kirk Cousins and two Saints defenders and remained down on the field as his right leg was attended to by Redskins medical personnel. He was helped off the field and loaded onto the cart as teammates gathered around him. An air cast was placed on his right leg, and he was declared out for the remainder of the contest.
After the game, Redskins coach Jay Gruden indicated that Thompson has a fractured fibula and will require surgery.
Houston Texans: D’Onta Foreman, RB, Houston Texans: At the tail end of a 34-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, Foreman appeared to take an awkward step, and after diving into the end zone, he remained on the ground where ankle was attended to by Texans medical staff. He was subsequently carted off the field. The early diagnosis is that Foreman has a torn Achilles tendon, pending further tests on Monday.
New Orleans Saints: Marshon Lattimore, CB, New Orleans Saints: While breaking up a pass attempt in the end zone against Josh Doctson, Lattimore appeared to tweak his left leg and was attended to on the field before walking to the sideline with a noticeable limp. He was declared questionable to return, but made his return in the second half. It was a short-lived return, however, as he was involved in a hard collision on his first play back and left the game again before heading to the locker room.
Miami Dolphins: Jay Cutler, QB, Miami Dolphins: At the start of the second half, the Dolphins replaced Cutler with Matt Moore and then announced that Cutler was being evaluated for a concussion. The team later announced that Cutler would not return to the game.
Chicago Bears: Leonard Floyd, LB, Chicago Bears: Floyd and Bears CB Kyle Fuller collided during a Lions running play, and Floyd was attended to on the field by Bears medical personnel for a leg injury. He was eventually carted off and was declared out for the duration of the game. Afterward, Bears coach John Fox indicated that the injury is expected to be “fairly serious.”
Green Bay Packers: Clay Matthews, LB, Green Bay Packers: Matthews was examined in the Packers’ sideline medical tent during the break between the first and second quarter and was subsequently declared questionable to return because of a groin injury. He was later downgraded to out.
Green Bay Packers: Damarious Randall, CB, Green Bay Packers: Randall landed on his head after he gave up a touchdown to Mike Wallace early in the third quarter. He received medical attention on the field before making his way up the tunnel to the Packers’ locker room. Randall returned to the game later in the third quarter.
Houston Texans: Kevin Johnson, CB, Houston Texans: Johnson left the game in the fourth quarter, and the Texans announced that he was being evaluated for a concussion.
Loa Angeles Rams: Kayvon Webster, CB, Los Angeles Rams: Webster was declared out for the game because of a concussion.
Washington Redskins: Shawn Lauvao, OG, Washington Redskins: Lauvao exited the game in the second quarter with a stinger and was originally declared questionable to return before being downgraded to out.
Cleveland Browns:Emmanuel Ogbah, DE, Cleveland Browns: Ogbah suffered a foot injury and was declared out for the remainder of the game in the third quarter. After the game, the team confirmed that Ogbah has a broken foot.
Los Angeles Rams: Nickell Robey-Coleman, CB, Los Angeles Rams A thigh injury sidelined Robey-Coleman in the second quarter against the Vikings, and he was declared doubtful to return.
Minnesota Vikings: Xavier Rhodes, CB, Minnesota Vikings: Rhodes got tangled up while defending a long pass in the second quarter and was declared questionable to return with a calf injury. Mackensie Alexander filled in for Rhodes, with Terence Newman taking over in the slot. Rhodes returned later in the second quarter.
Cleveland Browns: Sammie Coates, WR, Cleveland Browns: The third-year pro exited the game against the Jaguars in the first half and was declared questionable to return because of a knee/ankle injury. He was later downgraded to out.
Washington Redskins: Montae Nicholson, S, Washington Redskins: Nicholson sustained a concussion during the game against New Orleans and was ruled out for the remainder of the contest.
New York Giants: Olivier Vernon, DE, New York Giants: Vernon was shaken up in the first quarter after chasing after (and diving towards) Chiefs QB Alex Smith. He was declared questionable to return with a shoulder injury.
Jacksonville Jaguars:Donald Payne, LB, Jacksonville Jaguars: Payne exited the game in the first quarter and was declared questionable to return with a hamstring injury.
Cleveland Browns:Derron Smith, S, Cleveland Browns: Smith sustained a knee injury in the first quarter against the Jaguars and was designated as questionable to return.
New York Giants: Ross Cockrell, CB, New York Giants: Cockrell was shaken up early in the first quarter after being kneed in the head by a hurdling Travis Kelce.
Tennessee Titans: Brian Orakpo, LB, Tennessee Titans: Orakpo briefly left the game against Pittsburgh but is not expected to miss any additional action.
